To encourage the OP team to continue to work along side and in the interests of the player base, we will be having a player elected H-OP, or half OP, work along-side the OP team. This thread exists to detail how the process will work and when the process will start.
Remember, the job of the player elected H-OP is a responsibility, not an honor. It will require knowing what the player base wants and representing their interests in OP decisions. Failing to do this is failing in the elected position, and while this will not prevent a player from serving another term, the OP team will voice concern during following elections.
H-OPs will serve a 30 day term. The term begins when the election ends and ends at the end of the next election. There is, at this time, no limit on how many terms any one player may serve, consecutively or otherwise.
The election process is limited to eligible players. To be an eligible player, one must fulfill these two conditions: a) have at least one approved character, and b) have power less than H-OP.
Elections are a two part process. Each part will last three days, and there will be a day of rest between each part. Part one of the election process is the nomination stage. All eligible players may nominate a single candidate ANONYMOUSLY by PMing an OP. Self-nominations ARE allowed. The OPs will gather these nominations together over the course of three days, at the end of which the top three nominees will be announced.
During the day of rest, nominees can accept or reject their nomination. If a player will not be able to join that day to accept a nomination, arrangements should be made before-hand. Nominations not accepted will be assumed to be rejected. This day can also be used to question nominees to inform decisions for the next stage of the election.
The second stage of the election involves voting. The top three nominees who accepted their nominations become candidates in this stage. A link will be posted in the topic that will allow players to vote anonymously. Three days will be allowed for voting. At the end of those three days, the old H-OP will lose their OP and the new H-OP will be granted their promotion.
