Cordelia and Gehenna enter a H.P Lovecraft style world, and find a ruined city overrun by sentient stitching thread. They help a group of survivors escape the city, all the while killing the stitch monsters.
<LadyKatie> Delia walks around.
<dragonwielder> Somewhere within the halls, a door slowly creaks open.
<LadyKatie> Delia goes to check it out
<mrs_padri> So does Genny!
<dragonwielder> May take a minute for description
<dragonwielder> They would look through the door to see a ruined cobblestone path. torn up buildings following along it. Further up the path, there is a bronze carriage crashed into a small mansion. The sky is dark with clouds, as what seems to be red rays of morning light occasionally shine through. Ash raining from the sky all the while.
<LadyKatie> Delia steps through, leather longcoat fluttering in the hotel-provided breeze.
<mrs_padri> "This is llovely." She smiles as she steps through.
<LadyKatie> "I'm not a big fan of the idea of sunlight, but okay."
<dragonwielder> (Cordelia is fin since most of the sky is covered. The sunlight drawback doesn't have to come into effect if you don't want it to)
<dragonwielder> *fine*
<LadyKatie> (Up to you)
<dragonwielder> (She's ok then!)
<mrs_padri> She heads towards the carriage.
<LadyKatie> Delia follows, just in case. sniffing the air for… blood
<dragonwielder> It shines in the few light rays from above.
<mrs_padri> Anything inside it?
<dragonwielder> There's a skeleton, seems to have been there for a while. It seems to be dressed in an admiral's gear, and a flintlock remains in his hand. From the torn up inside of the carriage, it's obvious he died fighting.
<dragonwielder> Cordelia, roll perc.
<mrs_padri> She reaches in for the pistol. It have any ammo?
<LadyKatie> 1d12
<Glacon> LadyKatie: 4 (1d12=4)
<dragonwielder> Strange enough, it seems to have more than one barrel. Three to be exact. And the bullets can be seen from inside, they are made of silver.
<dragonwielder> Cordelia, you catch the faintest bit of something coming from within the mansion the carriage is crashed into.
<mrs_padri> ~Werewolves?~
<LadyKatie> Delia turns her attention to the manor.
<dragonwielder> Any of those looking at the manor roll perc
<LadyKatie> 1d12 again?
<Glacon> LadyKatie: again?: 10 (1d12=10)
<mrs_padri> d15 I'll look!
<Glacon> mrs_padri: I'll look!: 9 (d15=9)
<dragonwielder> You all look in time, it seems that someone was peeking through, and shuts the door just as you look that way.
<mrs_padri> "Hm?" She takes a step closer, physically asking if Delia wants to go that way.
<LadyKatie> Delia steps in front of Genny
<mrs_padri> Genny follows her to the mansion?
<dragonwielder> An old lantern sits by the door, one of the small lights in the dark world other than the rays of red sunlight.
<mrs_padri> Genny waits for Delia to either knock or break the door down.
<LadyKatie> Delia tries to open the door.
<dragonwielder> It opens, creaking a bit.
<mrs_padri> Genny takes the lantern and peeks in.
<LadyKatie> She steps in, because HUNT.
<dragonwielder> It's what you'd expect of a creepy mansion, there's decorations about, chairs sitting in order as if the room were some sort of lobby.
<LadyKatie> Delia steps in, looking around
<mrs_padri> Genny follows.
<dragonwielder> There seems to be a flintlock rifle hung up on the wall, below it is a dresser of sorts. There is a nice couch with a chairs to the left and right side of it sitting in front of a fireplace. To the left, there are stairs leading up. Along the wall there are paintings of really important looking people.
<dragonwielder> *-a*
<mrs_padri> Always with the paintings of important people. Genny looks up the stairs.
<dragonwielder> It leads into a hallway.
<mrs_padri> Well, let's go down it!
<LadyKatie> Down the hallway!
<dragonwielder> They may see a pair of feet turning the corner.
<mrs_padri> Genny picks up the pace. Agi?
<dragonwielder> Yep!
<LadyKatie> Delia too?
<dragonwielder> Both!
<LadyKatie> 1d17
<Glacon> LadyKatie: 9 (1d17=9)
<mrs_padri> d9
<Glacon> mrs_padri: 2 (d9=2)
<mrs_padri> Genny trips. :|
<dragonwielder> If that's what you say :v
<LadyKatie> Maybe it's best Delia takes the lead anyway.
<dragonwielder> If Delia, you make it down the hall and around the corner just in time to see a door slam shut. (Lotta doors here, eh?)
<LadyKatie> She goes over to open the door.
<LadyKatie> Vampire on the chase, she really cant' help it.
<dragonwielder> The door creaks open. The room seems to be empty at first glance.
<LadyKatie> Perc?
<mrs_padri> Genny catches up.
<dragonwielder> If you want to roll it.
<mrs_padri> d15
<LadyKatie> 1d12
<Glacon> mrs_padri: 10 (d15=10)
<Glacon> LadyKatie: 6 (1d12=6)
<dragonwielder> Cordelia, you can sense it because of your vampire senses. and Genny, you see some movement under the door you guys just opened, as if someone is hiding behind it.
<LadyKatie> Delia spins around faster than should be possible and hisses
<mrs_padri> She scoots in, aiming her gun at it and pulling the door closeder.
<dragonwielder> There's a fellow wearing average victorian era working clothes. He shakes heavily as he aims a flintlock rifle at you. He's scared shitless.
<LadyKatie> "Hello there."
<dragonwielder> "Wh-Who the hell a-are y-ou?" British accent,
<LadyKatie> "Cordelia Geralds."
<mrs_padri> Genny just grins. ~Heh. Hell.~
<dragonwielder> "Why!"
<mrs_padri> "Wh-y not?"
<dragonwielder> "No, Why did you come here?!"
<mrs_padri> She just keeps staring. Same answer, dumbo.
<LadyKatie> "because I could, now put that away, I haven't threatened you in the slightest."
<dragonwielder> He shakily steps forward with the rifle. "Yes you have! You could have led them to us!"
<LadyKatie> "What's them?"
<mrs_padri> "Wwwerewolves?"
<dragonwielder> "St-The Stitches!"
<dragonwielder> "I fucking wish it was werewolves."
<LadyKatie> "Oh, werewolves I can't do, but what are these 'stitches?'"
<dragonwielder> "….You really don't know?"
<dragonwielder> The rifle lowers a bit.
<LadyKatie> "No, but tell me. Particularly, do they bleed?"
<dragonwielder> "K-kind of…..Why do you care? What makes you think you could take one down? I don't see any weapons on you." He gestures to Genny. "She at least has a pistol."
<mrs_padri> "Sh-e /is/ a wweapon."
<LadyKatie> "I have two." She draws the two silver pistols from the leg holsters on her thigh.
<dragonwielder> "Fine, if you want to get yourself slaughtered. They are….a group of beings, stitches holding together bodies."
<LadyKatie> "I didn't ask that. I asked if they bled."
<dragonwielder> "Well, considering they are sentient stitching thread that holds mutilated human body parts to hold around. Yes, they fucking bleed."
<mrs_padri> :|
<LadyKatie> She laughs. "That's nice."
<mrs_padri> "W-hy stitches?" ~So weird.~
<dragonwielder> "Because some fucker thought stitches that could stitch wounds by themselves was a good idea. Plot twist, it was a bad fucking idea."
<mrs_padri> Genny laughs.
<LadyKatie> "Oh, you humans."
<mrs_padri> "Th-ey mmmake the b-b-best idea!"
<dragonwielder> A voice is heard from the other room. "Honey! Who are you talking to?"
<LadyKatie> "Your friendly neighborhood vampire!"
<mrs_padri> "And a d-d-demon."
<dragonwielder> He sits there processing this.
<dragonwielder> Like, for atleast a minute
<LadyKatie> ~Yeah, sure. Let her think she's a demon.~
<dragonwielder> There is the sound of a door creaking behind you all.
<mrs_padri> She turns to look.
<dragonwielder> There is a child, looks to be about 8-9 years old, and a woman, looks to be the mother of the child. There is a resemblance. Che child has a bandage wrapped around his left eye. The mother has a flintlock out. "A what?"
<mrs_padri> "I am the p-p-Princess of H-ell."
<LadyKatie> "I'm a vampire, but I'm not going to hurt you."
<dragonwielder> The british man looks conflicted. "A vampire……….never been on friendly terms with them…"
<LadyKatie> "Well there's a first time for everything."
<dragonwielder> He looks at you two. "But with your help, we could likely escape the city."
<LadyKatie> "I'd be willing to help." She smiles at the child. Granted, she has fangs, but she's trying to be nice
<mrs_padri> Genny stares at the child. Children are fascinating.
<dragonwielder> The child is a bit shy, he hides behind his mother, "Uh…h- hello….Mrs. Vampire."
<LadyKatie> "My name's Cordelia, but you can call me Delia, sweetie." She gets down on the child's level.
<dragonwielder> The man lightens up. "You'd be willing to help?" The child slowly comes from behind his mother, and walks up to Cordelia.
<LadyKatie> "Of course." She looks up at the man, and then back to the child, holding out a hand.
<dragonwielder> The child shakes it, smiling a bit. The rag over his eye is stained a bit red.
<dragonwielder> "Thank you Delia!" The child beams.
<mrs_padri> "I'll h-elp if sh-e will." About Delia.
<LadyKatie> Delia smiles. "It's going to be alright." Self control is something Delia has, especially when it comes to children.
<dragonwielder> The parents notice that. They are happy to see it.
<dragonwielder> "We uh, haven't found a way to kill stitches….Silver bullets seem to stun them."
<dragonwielder> The man states.
<LadyKatie> "Can they be bled dry? And what about cutting the stitches?"
<dragonwielder> "They can't bleed dry. And no one has been insane enough to go to close range with the fuckers. Pretty sure we are the only ones left in the city. We tried to escape by carriage….but.."
<dragonwielder> "You likely saw how that failed."
<LadyKatie> "Well this time you have an escort. How far do you think you'll need us?"
<dragonwielder> "The part where we'll need you…..you'll know it when you see it."
<dragonwielder> "The carriage is out of what, so we'll have to go by foot."
<dragonwielder> *Whack*
<dragonwielder> "But seriously. You'll know it when you see it. We call it the net. It's how they keep us from getting out of the city."
<mrs_padri> "W-e'll be rready."
<dragonwielder> He nods, then looks to his son. "You know the plan."
<dragonwielder> The child nods and scurries off.
<LadyKatie> Delia pulls on brass knuckles after patting the child on the head reassuringly.
<dragonwielder> The child comes back holding two flintlock pistols. "Ready to go."
<dragonwielder> The man looks to Delia. "I'll lead the way."
<LadyKatie> Delia nods. "Ready when you are."
<dragonwielder> "Well then, let's get going!" He seems excited, finally getting out of the city.
<LadyKatie> Delia follows, but keeps all senses on point.
<dragonwielder> It's a relatively normal walk, well. As normal as it gets in a HP lovecraft style ruined city.
<dragonwielder> Eventually, you all come to something a bit on the disturbing side. The family seems nervous at the sight of it.
<dragonwielder> It's just a bunch of body parts.
<dragonwielder> Scattered about, some in piles. The ground around them is stained a crimson red.
<dragonwielder> In the distance, there is a bronze gate leading out of the city.
<mrs_padri> "Wh-hat is th-is?"
<dragonwielder> The man aims his rifle. "The net."
<dragonwielder> Everyone, roll perc.
<LadyKatie> 1d12 I'm gonna fite it and I'm gonna kill it ded
<Glacon> LadyKatie: I'm gonna fite it and I'm gonna kill it ded: 2 (1d12=2)
<mrs_padri> d15
<Glacon> mrs_padri: 4 (d15=4)
<dragonwielder> Delia, the sheer amount of blood you can smell must shake your senses a bit.
<dragonwielder> Genny, you faintly see it.
<dragonwielder> There are threads moving amongst the body parts, some of the body parts are moving closer together…..as if assembling.
<LadyKatie> When does Delia see it?
<dragonwielder> Almost as if they are being pulled together by the threads. She can start seeing it about now.
<mrs_padri> d16 Genny shoots at an assembling "stitch"
<Glacon> mrs_padri: Genny shoots at an assembling "stitch": 9 (d16=9)
<LadyKatie> Delia hisses, and is ready to SPRING OVER AND BITE IT
<dragonwielder> As it almost finishes assembling, and is standing up, it is knocked to the ground by the shot which hits it in the chest. Blood splatters the wall beside it.
<LadyKatie> Does the blood smell… alive?
<dragonwielder> Others are now assembling. Whispers can be heard. "C͜o͘͘͟ļ̀l̸͝҉ec̛͞t.́.̵͢.̶̨.̶͡.͠.͏̡c̶̕͞ol͟le͝c̷t҉.̧.͟͜.c̢ǫ̛l̸͟l̵͏͞e̕͜c҉͠t͢͝ " Some of it smells alive, some doesn't. Seesm to depend on how recent the bodies are.
<dragonwielder> The family begins opening fire. Holy shit, the little boy is dual wielding.
<LadyKatie> Impressive. Delia lunges at one that isnt' being shot at.
<mrs_padri> d16 Genny keeps shooting!
<Glacon> mrs_padri: Genny keeps shooting!: 15 (d16=15)
<LadyKatie> 2d16 (Fangs) going to bite one that isnt' being shot at

<dragonwielder> 1d7 it tries to block you with it's arm.
<Glacon> dragonwielder: it tries to block you with it's arm.: 3 (1d7=3)
<dragonwielder> Well, as expected, it's defense fails. (I'm not sure what to do here. Do you want to describe your own attack? Or do I describe what you do?
<dragonwielder> Also
- Nanoro has quit (Quit: Connection closed for inactivity)
<dragonwielder> 1d7
<Glacon> dragonwielder: 3 (1d7=3)
<LadyKatie> She bites it, and if there's blood, gains blood buff. Damage is calculated the same way. (Attack-defense)/2
<dragonwielder> Genny, your storm of bullets shoots down one of the stitches, knocking it's head and left arm off.
<mrs_padri> She stops long enough to see if it re assembles itself.
<dragonwielder> Cordelia, you get blood! but..it's still alive. You're only sucking blood out of a being made of stitches. The living part is the stitches, not the part filled with blood.
<LadyKatie> She bites at the stitches! Melee?
<dragonwielder> Yep!
<LadyKatie> 3d16 CUT THROUGH ANYTHING ORGANIC
<Glacon> LadyKatie: CUT THROUGH ANYTHING ORGANIC: 25 (3d16=15, 9, 1)
<dragonwielder> Genny, the creature does not! As it happens, your bullets hit a few stitches.
<dragonwielder> 1d7
<Glacon> dragonwielder: 6 (1d7=6)
<mrs_padri> How many more are there?
<dragonwielder> Cordelia, it's defenses fail.
<mrs_padri> d4 summon a fire imp to burn them
<Glacon> mrs_padri: summon a fire imp to burn them: 3 (d4=3)
<mrs_padri> It works! You can gm the imp's actions.
<dragonwielder> There are 4 more.
<LadyKatie> Delia hisses, face covered in blood, and goes at the next one. Blood buff typically lasts for 5 rounds, and she has 4 more left.
<LadyKatie> 3d16 blood buff 2/5 nom the next guy's stitches. Up to you on whether or not she gains more blood from this
<Glacon> LadyKatie: blood buff 2/5 nom the next guy's stitches. Up to you on whether or not she gains more blood from this: 26 (3d16=10, 8, 8)
<dragonwielder> A portal opens, and a imp comes out at blinding speed! Spinning in the air and spitting fire like a flamethrower. It runs up to a stitch and grabs it by the mouth. It hold's it's mouth open, and spits fire down it's throat.
<dragonwielder> 1d7
<Glacon> dragonwielder: 1 (1d7=1)
<dragonwielder> Cordelia, you get blood from this one as it's stitches are cut, it falls to pieces.
<dragonwielder> Coredelia, one of the stitches charge at you!
<LadyKatie> 3d16 Blood buff 1/5 + fangs AT THAT GUY
<Glacon> LadyKatie: Blood buff 1/5 + fangs AT THAT GUY: 26 (3d16=12, 10, 4)
<dragonwielder> 1d8 It bursts forward, the human hands crackle and break as they form into claws made of bone, ready to slash at Delia
<Glacon> dragonwielder: It bursts forward, the human hands crackle and break as they form into claws made of bone, ready to slash at Delia: 1 (1d8=1)
<mrs_padri> d16 more shooting at the next one
<Glacon> mrs_padri: more shooting at the next one: 4 (d16=4)
<LadyKatie> Do we even want to bother with PDEF for that?
<dragonwielder> Nope
<dragonwielder> The stitches are cut by Delia's fangs, and it falls into a pile of gore.
<dragonwielder> 1d7 It tries to block the fire from Genny
<Glacon> dragonwielder: It tries to block the fire from Genny: 5 (1d7=5)
<LadyKatie> Any more that aren't being shot at?
<dragonwielder> It hits it, but no stitches are cut. This would be the last one, and it's now charging at Genny!
<dragonwielder> 1d8 The bones twist into a claw hand.
<Glacon> dragonwielder: The bones twist into a claw hand.: 7 (1d8=7)
<LadyKatie> 3d16 blood buff 2/5 COMING AT YOU FROM BEHIND, TEARING THINGS APART
<Glacon> LadyKatie: blood buff 2/5 COMING AT YOU FROM BEHIND, TEARING THINGS APART: 31 (3d16=11, 5, 15)
<dragonwielder> 1d7
<Glacon> dragonwielder: 6 (1d7=6)
<mrs_padri> The stitches can take a turn, too, if you want them to attack.
<dragonwielder> The stitch is shredded as your fangs tear through it's back, ripping stitches.
<dragonwielder> Your fangs cut the stitches, but it continues running at Genny.
<dragonwielder> Just as it's in front of her, it falls apart.
<mrs_padri> ~Nice.~
<LadyKatie> Delia uses the body as a meat shield in case any more bullets come this way
<dragonwielder> The stitches seem to be more or less taken apart.
<dragonwielder> The family stops aiming their weapons
<LadyKatie> Delia pulls out a handkerchief and wipes her face off.
<dragonwielder> The father slowly takes off his glasses. "I'll be damned………"
<dragonwielder> "We actually fucking did it!"
<dragonwielder> The child shoots his pistols in the air to celebrate!
<dragonwielder> The mother sort of stares at the child disapprovingly.
<dragonwielder> The father walks up to you, Cordelia and Genny. "Can't thank you two enough."
<LadyKatie> "Of course. Glad to be of assistance."
<mrs_padri> Genny nods. "I'll b-be k-eeping this," she says of the gun.
<dragonwielder> "Feel free."
<dragonwielder> "That was Bob's gun."
<dragonwielder> The man says.
<dragonwielder> Then The woman comments. "No one liked Bob."
<mrs_padri> "No o-one likes mme." She grins.
<dragonwielder> The child tilts his head. "What do you mean? You were awesome!"
<LadyKatie> "Is everyone alright?"
<dragonwielder> "I'm good." The man nods, looking to the pile of gore. "Wait…..hold on a second."
<LadyKatie> "What is it?"
<mrs_padri> Genny looks too.
<dragonwielder> The then pulls out a bag. And begins hurling.
<dragonwielder> The mother puts a palm on her forehead. "Damn it…"
<dragonwielder> "Daaaaaaad, it's just a pile of limbs!" The child says with a grin.
<mrs_padri> Genny looks confused.
<dragonwielder> "That's why I'm fucking hurling!" The father hisses in return.
<dragonwielder> He eventually throws the bag to the side.
<dragonwielder> "Let's get out of this damn place. Can't stand to look at that any longer."
<LadyKatie> "Understood."
<mrs_padri> Genny motions towards the gate. She's not going first; she doesn't care if the family dies.
<LadyKatie> Delia will go first.
<dragonwielder> They follow Delia!
<mrs_padri> Genny goes last.
<LadyKatie> Delia makes sure everything is safe.
<dragonwielder> Things are safe. A hand tries to move, but that's about it.
<dragonwielder> You all arrive at the gate.
<dragonwielder> The father slowly pushes it open.
<dragonwielder> As the gate opens, there is no smog in the sky on the other side.
<LadyKatie> "Looks like you're home free."
<dragonwielder> Just the morning pink sky, and some moving caravans in the distance. The grass is green.
<dragonwielder> "Thank you miss Delia!" You receive a hug from the child.
<LadyKatie> "You're welcome, sweetheart."
<dragonwielder> "Thank you, both of you." The mother smiles warmly.
<mrs_padri> Genny stays away from the child.
<mrs_padri> No hugs, pls.
<LadyKatie> "You're welcome. Glad to have been of assistance."
<dragonwielder> The child looks to Genny. "Thank you as well!"
<dragonwielder> The man chuckles. "We should all meet again sometime. Maybe drink tea instead of shooting supernatural freaks."
<mrs_padri> She's uncomfortable with this. "I w-w-will tttake a gift…" If she needs to be thanked, they aren't even.
<LadyKatie> "I'm not one for tea, but meeting again would be nice."
<dragonwielder> The child comes up to you, and hands over one of his pistols. "There! Now you can dual wield too!"
<mrs_padri> She nods, taking it.
<dragonwielder> He nods. "Well, then. If we meet again at some point."
<dragonwielder> The family gathers up and begins travelling off, waving as they disappear into the sunset.
<dragonwielder> After they are gone, the bronze gate slams shut.
<LadyKatie> Delia waves, and waits to head back to the hotel…. oh snap.
<dragonwielder> And opens again, now leading into the hotel.
<LadyKatie> Delia opens the gates?
<dragonwielder> The gate opens itself.
<LadyKatie> Oh, nevermind. Back to the hotel!
<dragonwielder> You are all now in the hall you were before, and the door disappears.
<dragonwielder> ~FIN
