Synopsis
It's a party and everyone is invited! The group enter a world that is holding a charity event. They bump into a singer who is looking for his lucky charm. The group begrudgingly agree to help except for Gehenna who enters the party. While sampling food an odd masked man asks Genny for a dance. After generally being weird he mentions that today is his birthday before walking away. Meanwhile the others, Lawrence, Cordelia, and Mariyah, find the singer's lucky charm and discover something horrible. The world is under attack.
They rush back to Gehenna and they try escaping. After sustaining numerous injuries they find exit, but above a missile goes off sending everyone flying. They wake up back in the hotel to find a gaping hole in the wall leading to the dying world they just left.
<LemurLord> Taped onto everyone's door is a small envelope.
<mrs_padri> Genny opens it.
<LadyKatie> Delia opens it
<mrs_padri> Genny opened it first!
<LemurLord> It's an invitation! It reads "You are cordially invited to Cinder Charity Event at the Cinder City Concert Hall."
<Nemi> Mari opens it as well!
<Nemi> Weird!
<LadyKatie> Delia's face lights up! A party! She'd better go get dressed nicely for this.
<LemurLord> "Featuring performances by Cinder City's own Uda Mercuria. Attire is strictly formal wear."
<mrs_padri> Charity isn't Gehenna's shtick, but charity events tend to be lavish, prideful things. /Besides/ it's a formal invitation! She knocks on Delia's door to borrow a dress.
<LadyKatie> "Hello?"
<LemurLord> Instead of an address there is a string of hexadecimal numbers. And the time is… oh dear it's ten minutes from now
<madness_> Lawrence opens it! And rushes to put on his best clothes!
<Nemi> Mari.. Mari has some formalwear.. She looks horrible in it, because she always feels she looks horrible, but she can at least try and dress up. Something with a.. something around the shoulders to obscure her rectangle-ish body and /she is going turbofast now/ oh dang and what.
<mrs_padri> "I n-n-need a d-dress…" She holds out her invitation.
<LadyKatie> "Hm. Come on in, I might have something that will fit." Delia is already dressed in red
<mrs_padri> Once they've found a dress, Gehenna heads off to find the proper door.
<LadyKatie> Delia does as well, making sure her neck is well covered
<Nemi> Mari hurries along to join the others, figuring they got invitations too. She doesn't wanna be late!
<madness_> Lawrence heads along, as well!
<LemurLord> The door associated with the hexidecimal code looks older than the others, run down. Regardless sounds of merriment can be heard from the other side.
<mrs_padri> Genny tries the door!
<Nemi> Mari, all afidget behind the others, watches.
<LemurLord> The door opens, revealing the backstage area. Everywhere stage hands are rushing about making sure everything is in order
<LadyKatie> Delia frowns. Backstage. :(
<mrs_padri> She steps through, looking around. ~This isn't where the party is.~ Can she tell how to get to the party?
<madness_> Lawrence watches all the stage hands scurry around.
<LemurLord> Down the hall is a bright illuminated door where you can hear sounds of a large crowd
<LadyKatie> Delia heads to that door
<mrs_padri> Then that's the way to go. Gehenna follows, shyly.
<madness_> Lawrence follows the crowd!
<LemurLord> A sharply dressed man bumps into Delia, clearly out of breath. He awkwardly mutters out an apology
<mrs_padri> Gehenna stares at the crowd from the corner.
<LadyKatie> She smiles, fangs probably visible. And continues to the door, probably opening it as well
<LemurLord> "S-sorry, you haven't happened to see a charm around have you?" he says to the group
<mrs_padri> Genny sticks with Delia.
<LadyKatie> "No, I havent. But I also haven't been looking."
<mrs_padri> ~Why should I care?~
<LemurLord> "I'm sorry to ask but I desperately need some help, I go on in fifteen minutes and I think I left my lucky charm in my car."
<LadyKatie> "Have you checked your car?"
<mrs_padri> She stares at him, wondering if he's going to offer her something for it.
<LemurLord> "I would but I don't have the time to run down to check. If you could, I would be greatly indebted to you. I would offer all the luck I have,"
<mrs_padri> ~Luck? Bah.~ She wanders off elseways. Find a good-oriented character. They generally care more.
<LadyKatie> "I suppose I could check. Keys, and a description of your car please." Delia: your friendly neighborhood vampire
<mrs_padri> She walks over to where the crowd is, instead. She wants to people-watch.
<madness_> Lawrence idly wanders in the general vicinity of Delia and the others
<LemurLord> "Oh thank you," he fumbles with his keys and offers a description, "If some of you could stay and wish me luck I would appreciate it," When Delia takes the keys, she feels… better, lighter? +3 Luck

<LadyKatie> Wait, yes he did offer a description
<LemurLord> He did describe the car, not the charm itself.

<LemurLord> Like I said, a mess. The group ruffles around, to very little success. But in their haste, an object falls from the sun visor and bumps Mari's head

<LemurLord> Holding it gives Mari an odd feeling of elation. +10 Luck when she holds it

<LemurLord> People all around the garage are staring at the horizon
<LemurLord> They seem upset
<Nemi> "I- this feels nice to hold, um- oh! Yes, let's.." Mari hesitates a moment to look at what the peeps are staring at.
<LadyKatie> Well what's on the horizon?
<LadyKatie> Delia looks
<madness_> ".. Is there something wrong with the sky? Or do you think they're just waiting for something to take place?" Lawrence scratches his head and looks over that way.
<LemurLord> There are planes in the distance, roll Perc again

<madness_> "What? Um.. Alright." Lawrence goes along with da vampire
<Nemi> Mari .. Hesitates just a moment, then turns to run with!
<LadyKatie> Ic2?
<LemurLord> Seems like lots of other people are getting the same idea. Some are getting in cars and driving away while others are just running as far as they can.
<madness_> "Is it the mechanical birds? Is that what we're running from?" Lawrence, naturally, is quite confused on the nature of these type of planes. Or really, planes in general.
<LemurLord> Okay move IC2 if you want
<Nemi> "Those are warplanes!"
<LemurLord> As the group makes it back to the building, loud booming thunder can be heard far, far away
<LadyKatie> "Yes, yes they are. And we left Gehanna alone in there."

<LemurLord> It's a large hall, marble walls, brass fixtures, the works. The walls are lined with fancy refreshments and the center is filled with all many of people gossiping the night away
<mrs_padri> She glitters in her lovely dress, feeling a bit like cinderella must've. She stays near the walls. What sorts of refreshments? Genny's going to try something.

<LemurLord> The man from before walks onto the stage. He tests the microphone and announces, "Welcome everyone. Thank you for joining us tonight for this charity galla. Hopefully your donations tonight will help put a stop to this worldwide panic. With enough help we can start to heal our international relations."
<mrs_padri> ~Worldwide panic?~ That's like what happened in Hell before, apparently, the world ended.
<mrs_padri> She takes champagne. Cause there's always champagne at these things. (stop it genny ur not old enuf.)
<LemurLord> There's a tap on Genny's shoulder as the music starts to kick in
<mrs_padri> She turns around! Who is it?
<LemurLord> A tall man wearing a white mask, he seems to be the only one wearing a mask. He holds his hand out, "Could I trouble you for a dance?"
<mrs_padri> "I-i-i-i-i…" But she can't stutter out a protest.
<mrs_padri> She's holding her hands out, too, now.
<LemurLord> He grasps her hands and leads her to the dance floor, "you remember how to dance, don't you?"
<mrs_padri> She nods. She learned how to dance all kinds of dances, from a waltz to the charleston and back again.
<LemurLord> The man lets out a dry chuckle, "Don't step on my toes again, okay?"
<mrs_padri> "O-o-okay…" She's trying to recall if she's heard this voice before.
<LemurLord> "I always loved this calm," he hums, "No one seems to realize it yet, so they dance thinking of what they'll do tomorrow,"
<mrs_padri> "Realize wh-hat?"
<LemurLord> "Hey Genny," he continues, "Aren't you gonna wish me a happy birthday?"
<mrs_padri> She stops dancing. "D-d-do I know you?"
<LemurLord> The man doesn't reply. "Well it's not my birthday yet, I suppose," he checks his watch, "But soon,"
<madness_> ".. War planes?"
<mrs_padri> She… offers her hand again. ~This universe must have an alternate me?~ "Of c-c-c-course. Happy b-b-birthday."
<LadyKatie> Delia runs inside. She's a blur.
<mrs_padri> Gehenna is dancing with masked man!
<LemurLord> The man doesn't take it, "Give the others my regards, before the end," he walks into the crowd
<mrs_padri> She watches him go before turning to look for the others.
<LadyKatie> Delia should be in the doorway.
<mrs_padri> She looks kinda… dreamy.
<LadyKatie> Delia looks for Genny.
<LemurLord> The singer addresses the crowd, "Um… Ladies and gentlemen, it has come to my…." he looks off stage nervously, "It has come my attention that unknown aircraft have just entered our airspace. Please calmly make your way to the nearest shelter,"
<mrs_padri> Any trouble finding each other?
<LemurLord> nope
<mrs_padri> Then Genny heads over.
<LadyKatie> "Let's get out of here." She suggests firmly. As if that's what she's going to do anyway.
<mrs_padri> She nods.
<madness_> ".. oh dear. What do war planes do?" Lawrence just follows along!

<LemurLord> The crowd is moving towards a stairwell, Genny can tell where she needs to go, but she has lost all sight of the others
<madness_> "Where did she go?" Lawrence blinks.
<mrs_padri> How much crowd would she have to wade through? Perhaps it would be better to stand in a corner and wait till the crowd has passed her. She wants to try this.
<mrs_padri> Yes! And maybe she'll see Masked Man go past!

<LemurLord> The dance hall is deathly quiet beyond the sound of the siren. In just a few brief minutes everyone has evacuated
<LemurLord> Backstage our group finds the door that led them here

<madness_> Lawrence goes back through, air raid siren chilling his spine. If he can, that is.
<LemurLord> Other than the door opens to a broom closet, no problem whatsoever

<madness_> "… well. We should probably follow that crowd, then."

<madness_> Lawrence just looks around for signs that a rushing crowd could leave behind. Shoes, dropped jewelry or phones, etc.
<LemurLord> The once bustling streets are completely empty. Delia, the human bloodhound, can't even get a scent
<mrs_padri> Genny stares at the skies.
<madness_> Usually, Lawrence will ignore that dropped phone, because what are phones

<LemurLord> Lawrence finds some sort of trail if you can call it that, it's leading to a small church at the end of the road

<madness_> Lawrence goes to collect the Princess, hefts her up, then sprints off to the church! What to roll?

<LemurLord> Mari appears to have been left pretty much unscathed outside of a few superficial cuts and bruises

<LemurLord> Lawrence you've found someone. It's hard to tell who after the blow to your head, though. As your eyes focus you see its the singer from before. A large piece of lumber has pierced his throat.
<Nemi> Mari clutches the rabbit's foot in her hand. With a groan, she pushes herself up, looking around for.. Anyone amidst the rubble.
<madness_> "Oh.." Lawrence kneels over the man and shuts the corpse's eyes if he's dead. If not, he'll hold the man's hand and comfort him til the end.
<LemurLord> He is definitely dead
<Nemi> "… miss Delia? .. sir Lawrence?" Mari whispers.
<madness_> Then, he closes the man's eyelids. And takes a seat to look around the desolation.
<LemurLord> Dust and rubble is everywhere. Buildings are collapsing. People who have lost faith in the bomb shelters are trying to run away
<Nemi> Mari calls out louder, over the din. "MISS DELIA? SIR LAWRENCE?"
<LadyKatie> "Huh?"
<madness_> Lawrence takes a moment to discern where the hot blood on his cheek is stemming from. ".. over here. Though, you might want to stay where you are. Not too pleasant a sight, this."
<LadyKatie> Delia smells BLOOD
<LemurLord> Some of it might be hers
<LadyKatie> She needs blood.
<Nemi> You've had worse than this, Mari. You lived through the Damascus Spring. You've been bombed before. Mari staggers toward Lawrence's voice. ".. we need to find the door!"
<madness_> ".. yes. The door, of course.." Lawrence stands shakily, then hobbles towards Mari, hopefully covering the view of the dead singer.

<LemurLord> A new light fills the sky, a shining object propelled by flame screeches over the planes. Some of the behemoth machines are trying to divert their course

<madness_> ".. alright, alright.. Let's try and find the door.. hrrrrrk.." Lawrence winces from the pain in his head. Lot of blood running down his cheek.
<LemurLord> The missile reaches the highest point in the sky and explodes. Night turns into day and the entire world rumbles, shaking itself to the core
<Nemi> "See what?" Mari coughs and brushes dust out of her face. "Come on, let's-.. door's, where's the doo-"
<LadyKatie> Delia looks for any door
<LemurLord> A building still standing has a door, and it's not that far away
<madness_> Lawrence probably falls down when the world rumbles.
<LemurLord> The light in the sky is growing larger, slowly engulfing the planes above
<Nemi> Mari staggers that way, tears streaming down dust-caked cheeks.
<madness_> He picks himself and Genny up again, then hobbles over to the still standing building. ".. door."
<LadyKatie> "Let's go…"
